Autonomous vehicle pioneer Waymo has secured a major regulatory victory in California, receiving approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to significantly expand its robotaxi services. This greenlights Waymo to charge for fully driverless rides across 18 counties, including the entire Bay Area and Los Angeles, while also launching in new markets like San Diego and Sacramento.
