Stellantis has filed a patent for a groundbreaking safety system designed to eject an electric vehicle's battery pack in the event of thermal runaway. This innovative approach uses pyrotechnic bolts to quickly detach the flaming battery, theoretically allowing the vehicle to continue to a safe stop without the fire spreading to the passenger compartment.
