Honda Partners with Japanese Firms to Advance In-Motion Wireless EV Charging
Honda R&D has teamed up with construction companies Taisei and Taisei Rotec to develop a magnetic coupling wireless power transfer system that charges electric vehicles while they drive. The road-embedded infrastructure transmits electricity continuously to passing EVs, potentially reducing required battery pack sizes and alleviating range anxiety. The consortium plans further real-world testing to refine durability and power delivery across highway conditions.
