Toyota and Waymo Partner to Build bZ4X Robotaxis Starting in 2027

Toyota is teaming up with autonomous driving leader Waymo to develop factory-integrated driverless versions of the all-electric bZ4X crossover. The specialized robotaxi fleet is scheduled to begin real-world testing in Japan in 2027, initially targeting right-hand-drive commercial mobility markets. The project represents a major step in expanding purpose-built electric robotaxi deployments internationally.
