Tesla Activates Home Backup for Model 3 and Model Y, Expanding PowerShare Capabilities
USTesla
Tesla has enabled its PowerShare Home Backup feature for newer Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, allowing them to power a home during outages. This capability, previously exclusive to the Cybertruck, requires a Powerwall 3 installation and applies to cars ordered since October 1, 2023. The move helps Tesla catch up with competitors like Ford and GM, who have offered similar vehicle-to-home functionalities for some time.
