Rivian R2 to Feature Advanced Autonomy with LiDAR, Employee Deliveries Begin 2026

Rivian announced that its upcoming R2 SUV will integrate advanced autonomous driving capabilities, powered by LiDAR and its custom RAP1 computer platform. While paying customers can expect deliveries starting in 2027, Rivian employees will receive the first LiDAR-equipped R2s by the end of 2026 for real-world testing.
