Next-Gen Toyota Corolla to Offer Pure EV, Plug-In, and Ultra-Efficient Hybrid Powertrains
Toyota is preparing a radical overhaul for the 13th-generation Corolla by 2030, introducing a flexible platform capable of housing pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and standard hybrid powertrains. The redesigned global compact will debut a downsized, highly efficient 1.5-liter engine engineered to maximize hybrid fuel economy alongside dedicated EV variants. This multi-pathway architecture marks the first time the Corolla nameplate will include a fully electric battery-powered option.
