MAHLE Unveils New Range Extender for Heavy-Duty EVs and Rare Earth-Free Motor

Automotive supplier MAHLE has developed an innovative range extender system for heavy-duty electric trucks, allowing for a smaller battery footprint. This system pairs a compact combustion engine with a generator, designed to replace approximately one-third of a truck's battery capacity. Additionally, MAHLE introduced a new electric motor that operates without the need for rare earth materials, addressing critical supply chain and environmental concerns.
