Volkswagen Launches First Full-Hybrid Golf to Challenge Civic and Corolla

Volkswagen has introduced its first conventional hybrid powertrain for the Golf, slotting the new model between its mild-hybrid eTSI and plug-in hybrid eHybrid options. Pairing a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 1.6 kWh battery, the setup is engineered to maximize low-speed city efficiency. The new hybrid configuration will also expand to other MQB-platform vehicles, including the T-Roc crossover.
