Mercedes-AMG is introducing a new GLC 53 model, moving away from the less popular four-cylinder plug-in hybrid (PHEV) configuration previously seen in the GLC 63 S E Performance. This strategic shift sees the brand re-embrace a larger-capacity six-cylinder engine, aiming to offer a more traditional performance feel. The decision follows critical reception of its high-strung four-cylinder PHEV, which struggled to resonate with AMG's discerning customer base.
