Chinese automaker GAC plans to expand its Australian footprint with the Aion UT Cross, an entry-level electric crossover expected to arrive by 2027. Projected to sell for roughly $30,000 AUD, the compact EV will compete directly with upcoming rivals such as the BYD Atto 2 and Leapmotor B03X. The launch underscores intensifying rivalry among Chinese brands to dominate affordable zero-emission segments abroad.
