Ford and Lincoln Recall Over 66,000 Hybrid SUVs for Pedestrian Warning Sound Issue

Ford is issuing a recall for certain 2021-2024 Escape and Maverick hybrids, as well as 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring PHEVs, due to a problem with their pedestrian alert systems. A software malfunction can cause the external pedestrian warning sound to stop working, increasing the risk of an accident with pedestrians or cyclists.
