Ford has produced over 5,000 massive aluminum "unicastings" for its upcoming Fathom midsize electric pickup ahead of an expected 2027 debut. The front and rear castings consolidate approximately 146 components, mirroring the manufacturing approach pioneered by Tesla's Giga Press. The streamlined production strategy is central to Ford's plan to deliver the electric truck with a target price under $30,000.
