E.ON Launches Record-Low UK EV Home Charging Rate at 6.5p per kWh

British energy provider E.ON has rolled out its Next Drive Smart tariff, offering overnight home electric vehicle charging at just 6.5 pence per kilowatt-hour. The ultra-low off-peak rate allows drivers to fully recharge a typical electric vehicle, such as a Tesla Model Y, for roughly £4. The new plan aims to undercut rival utilities and significantly lower total operating expenses for UK electric car owners.
