AZL Consortium Develops and Benchmarks CFRP Rotor Sleeves for EV Motors
An industry consortium coordinated by AZL Aachen is initiating a systematic comparison of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) rotor sleeves for electric vehicle motors. This project will evaluate different manufacturing methods and material systems, including press-fit and direct-winding concepts. The consortium is also creating and validating specific testing procedures to assess the mechanical, thermal, and long-term durability of these advanced components, aiming to optimize their performance in EV applications.
