Arkema Boosts U.S. PVDF Production for EV Batteries with Kentucky Plant Expansion

Arkema has invested $20 million to expand its Calvert City, Kentucky, facility, increasing production of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) by 15%. This material is a critical binder for lithium-ion battery electrodes, holding the active material in place to improve battery performance and lifespan. The ramped-up domestic supply of this key component supports the growing electric vehicle battery manufacturing sector in North America.
